New Orleans Pride
The New Orleans Pride played in the Women’s Professional Basketball League (WBL) for two seasons from 1979-81. The team split home games between the Superdome and the University of New Orleans Field House, but only attracted a couple thousand fans per game. The Pride would hire former New Orleans Jazz coach Butch Van Breda Kolff as coach. After two seasons, the Pride would fold in 1981.
