Washington Tapers
The Washington Tapers played in the old American Basketball League (ABL) for two seasons, the first in 1961-62 at the Washington Coliseum. The team bombed in Washington and mid-season relocated to Commack, NY at the Long Island Arena where they were the New York Tapers. For the 1962-63 season, they would move again this time to Philadelphia and play at the Civic Center. The ABL would go out of business midway through the second season, taking the Tapers with it.
